Happy Halloween!

Together...
Having fun together on the front walkway...

Meg and I stayed home to give out candy to the trick-or-treaters (or "tricks or treats" in Charlie Brown language). They were greeted by pumpkins Meg and I carved at the Mills' pumpkin carving party last weekend. Meg's Oregon 'O' was done in perfect time for this weekends big game against ASU. We are lucky enough that the only tickets we bought for this season way back at the start is turning into one of the most crucial games of the year! That should be fun... I hope everyone had a fun Halloween and ate a lot of candy!

November 11

Super-Cheesy "Flight Instructor" image thanks to Google Image Search and has nothing to do with me what-soever

All of my flight requirements are complete. My written test has been taken and passed (95%). All that is left is the check ride. It is set up for Sunday November 11th. A check ride is not a 10 minute driver test down at the DMV. You have to set it up with a FAA approved "Designated Examiner". It will take about five hours. Before you even get in the plane, you have a full oral exam (why do they have the written?) and planning a full flight. In the plane, you have to demonstrate the not only flying skills, but navigation, emergencies, controlled airspace. Hopefully after all of that, Meg will feel somewhat comfortable about flying with me...

Pray for good weather!

Remembering Auntie Ruth

Auntie Ruth enjoying the Case family reunion in July 2005

I received a call late Saturday night from my mother. Calls after a certain hour are usually bad news, and this was no exception. My great Auntie Ruth passed away in Spokane. She was the youngest of the four Case sisters, but was still in her 80's.

Meg and I will be heading up to Des Moines for the service on Sunday. The family, as usual, will come together in full support.
