Californiaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Cait checking out Meg's super-speed goggles

FYI: The title of this post is for people that watched "The O.C."

Meggie and I are back from Stockton. We had a great time and came back tired (woke up at 3:30 to get to the airport), burned (two days in the sun) and sore (James trying to rip my arms off with a water ski rope). It's amazing to see the girls growing up; it's been a year since I saw them last.

It was also the first time for Meg to meet my sister. That was good, as she now can better understand the pain and darkness that was my childhood. She even has a few pictures to prove how evil and conniving the Little Sister is...

Meggie's pictures are here.

Coming up: Business trip to Vancouver on Thursday, Hood to Coast Friday and Saturday, then off to D.C. and North Carolina next Wednesday. Busy!

I'm goin' back to Cali

What do you mean California doesn't have weather?

This weekend we are heading down to Stockton to see My Itty-Bitty Sister and family. It will be great to see my nieces again. It's been a year and I'm sure those ragamuffins have grown!

The airshow was a lot of fun. It decided to go full-Oregon on us and drizzle the entire time, but that didn't stop the plans, and we had a great time! Here's Meg's take and her photos.

The City of Angels...

...is of course Hillsboro, Oregon. At least for this weekend. The Oregon International Airshow is this weekend and the Blue Angels are the big ticket item. They arrived this morning, about a hour after I got on the ground from flying this morning, in tight formation right over my work. We are located just East of the HIO airport where the airshow is happening. Out the window I get to see them doing their practice runs right now. Very cool. Meggie is taking me to the show on Sunday, so I'll give you a report. I know some friends are extremely jealous...

Also: Happy birthday Auntie Net!

Camping!

Shell Rock Lake
Shell Rock Lake

This weekend was the first time Meg and I actually camped this summer. You can't really count STP, even though we were in a tent. This time, we were camped at Hideaway Lake which is between Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson (map here, right on our campsite). We went up with Meg's friends Bri and Matt and their daughter Ella. They got up there early on Friday, but all the sites were full, so they got a "primitive" site on the far side of the lake. That was cool, as we were away from everyone and we got to use the canoe to haul gear over and back.

Saturday we took a short hike to Shell Rock Lake (picture above). I stole the pictures from Meg's camera to make the panorama. She has the rest of the shots from the trip and I'll post an update when she uploads them. Who knows when that will be.... ;)

UPDATE: Meggie has her pictures up here.
